Sylvia Ang, 35 years old, Counsellor
“I joined the Singapore Monologue Slam (SMS) as work is getting too serious and I want to express myself on a creative platform.
I love performing because it gives me space to be who I am and to truly express what I am feeling inside. I think SMS is a great competition to be in because I think it is the first one they have in Singapore (Actually, it’s the 2nd Edition this year!)
My challenges would be remembering my lines, because when you get a bit nervous you tend to forget your lines.
My message to all inspiring actors, just keep going because you need to start somewhere and eventually, you will get where you want to be.
SMS was a great community to make new friends with like-minded people and I certainly enjoyed the journey.”
