“I joined the Singapore Monologue Slam (SMS) because I like to perform, not just acting but I like singing and dancing too. The thing I love most about performing is that all eyes are on you. I like when you can just go into a different world when you are on stage. It is like, you’re not on the ground level.
What I think about SMS is that they hoped to boost your confidence and groom you to be a better actor and also a great person. I think my challenge is that since I am still schooling and my exams are coming up thus I would not have much time to practice and I am scared that I would be super unprepared when I go to the rehearsals and on stage but I will try to overcome that.
My message for other aspiring actors is that, just be yourself and do not be afraid what others think of you. My advice to myself is do not be scared if you do anything wrong on stage or like in life because you will always have a chance to come back and be in the moment.”
