"I joined the this year’s Singapore Monologue Slam (SMS) because I want to do better than last year’s one. I also got the free masterclass with Kamil, so it was good! And also, I feel that the whole Singapore Monologue Slam itself was a good learning experience. It was a good exposure for myself as an actor.
The reason why I love performing is that it helps me to express myself in ways that I did not express before and I just love acting! The Singapore Monologue Slam was a tough competition because everybody was so good. I actually took part last year and the standard were really high and the participants were on their game and they have good monologues prepared.
I think one of the challenges would be overcoming the nerves as I do not have much stage experience and performing in front of large crowd. My message to all the aspiring actors is to just have fun and enjoy what you do!
The Singapore Monologue Slam was definitely more engaging and more interesting than what you will expect."
